Racing Into 2025: The Season Gets Underway for Bermuda Racing

Spring is here, the time of year full of hope and aspirations for the year ahead and we are delighted to update you with Bermuda Racing’s journey for 2025.

Bermuda Longtail kicked off the year in promising style following her second at Kempton on Saturday - her first time stepping up to a mile. A smart winner over 7f at the track as a two-year-old, the now three-year-old filly has come home in the first two in each of her three starts. Trained by Andrew Balding, this daughter of Hello Youmzain is an exciting prospect for 2025 with black-type targets on the horizons.

"Bermuda Longtail ran a cracker on Saturday, leading from the front and only being beaten into second late on. Quite a taking performance first up for a filly that is still in her winter coat. She will come on stacks for this run!

We bought her at last year’s Arqana Breeze Up Sale for €220,000, where she did the fastest breeze by a filly and third fastest of all. She has both size and scope and is a really striking filly with an 8-metre galloping stride on her. The world is her oyster both on the track and as a broodmare. Next up is the Michael Seely Memorial Stakes at York where we will re-engage with the winner and we will see where to go from there. It’s very exciting indeed!" - Simon Scupham of Bermuda Racing.

As an update on our flag bearer and sprint star Flora Of Bermuda, this special Group-winning and Group 1 placed filly has made her way into what our trainer refers to as ‘Millionares Row’ at Park House Stables . There are high aspirations for her four-year-old career, with sights directed towards more days on the big stages in Group 1 company. As Simon reflected in our journal piece following her third in the Gr.1 QIPCO British Champions Sprint Series at the end of last season, “fasten your seat belts!” for the year ahead. Hopefully we’ll keep up with her!

Taking a look to our broodmare band, 2025 has brought new additions to the Bermuda Racing banner. We have had a filly by Native Trail (out of Pink Sands), and a colt foal by No Nay Never (out of Spirit Of Bermuda) . We are waiting now for a Havana Grey colt (out of Queen Of Bermuda) which is expected shortly .

Spirt Of Bermuda’s first foal was by Kingman and this filly continues to develop into something special indeed. We can’t help but look forward to seeing these future stars reach the track.

What a year we have ahead. The time of year where we have hopes, aspirations and longings for a crystal ball. One thing that is for certain, we are thoroughly looking forward to seeing the season unfold and keeping you updating along this Bermuda Racing journey.
