Exciting Update On Our Breeding Operations
As Bermuda Racing continues to develop both on the racecourse and within the breeding shed, we are delighted to share several exciting updates from our growing broodmare band and youngstock programme.
Spirit Of Bermuda
There has been plenty to look forward to surrounding Spirit Of Bermuda in recent months, beginning with the arrival of her outstanding Mehmas filly foal earlier this spring. By one of Europe’s leading commercial stallions and an increasingly influential source of precocious speed and elite two-year-old talent, the filly already displays plenty of quality, athleticism and presence. With Mehmas continuing to produce top-level performers across Europe, we are incredibly excited by what this young filly could represent for the future of the Bermuda Racing breeding programme (see above, Spirit Of Bermuda pictured with her Mehmas filly foal).
We have also been thrilled with the continued progress of Spirit Of Bermuda’s No Nay Never yearling colt, who has developed impressively in recent months (see image below). Renowned for producing sharp, athletic stock with both speed and toughness, No Nay Never has firmly established himself as one of the world’s premier stallions, responsible for Group 1 performers across Europe, America and beyond. His progeny continue to command strong demand at the highest level of the bloodstock market, making this colt an especially exciting prospect as preparations continue towards the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales.
All roads now lead towards the October, where hopes will naturally be high following the exceptional result achieved by Spirit Of Bermuda’s first Kingman filly, who realised 300,000gns last October at Tattersalls Book 1. Offered during the most prestigious week of the European sales calendar, the filly attracted significant interest throughout the sale and marked a major milestone for Spirit Of Bermuda as a young broodmare.
In another hugely exciting development for the operation, Spirit Of Bermuda is now confirmed in foal to Frankel - widely regarded as one of the most influential stallions of the modern era. A champion on the track and now also a multiple champion sire whose progeny continue to excel at the very highest level worldwide, Frankel represents the pinnacle of international breeding and the mating reflects the continued ambition behind Bermuda Racing’s long-term broodmare strategy. We cannot wait for the arrival of this foal next year!
Bermuda Longtail
Following a highly successful racing career which saw her earn valuable black-type at Listed level, Bermuda Longtail has now embarked on the next chapter of her career as part of the Bermuda Racing broodmare band.
Few fillies defined the 2025 season quite as clearly as Bermuda Longtail, whose combination of professionalism, athleticism and consistency established her as one of the standout performers within the operation. Her fast-finishing Listed second in the Michael Seely Memorial Stakes at York secured valuable black-type and further strengthened an already appealing pedigree profile.
Now retired from racing, we are delighted that Bermuda Longtail is carrying her first foal by Kingman. Widely recognised as one of Europe’s elite stallions, Kingman has built an exceptional reputation for producing high-class performers noted for their turn of foot, class and versatility, both on the racecourse and in the sales ring.
The mating carries particular excitement following the tremendous success of Spirit Of Bermuda’s first Kingman filly (sold for 300,000gns at Tattersalls Book 1 last October), underlining the continued commercial appeal and quality associated with the stallion.
As our broodmare band continues to strengthen, these latest developments represent another exciting step forward for the future of Bermuda Racing’s breeding operation - both commercially and on the racecourse.
